Herkimer - Mrs. Josephine D. Trimboli, 91, of 224 Dewey Ave. passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2013 in her home.
She was born in Arivara, Province of Rome, Italy on January 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Sebastian and Pierna Fiorini Fiori. Her and her family came to America when she was a young girl and she attended Herkimer schools. Josephine was married to Frank M. Trimboli on May 4, 1940 in St. Anthony's Church by the Rev. Gustave Purficato. Frank passed away on April 30, 2004. Josephine was employed by Derby's Sportswear, Quackenbush and later for Univac in both the Ilion and Utica plants for many years until her retirement in 1977. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church.
Josephine is survived by one daughter and son in law, Darlene and Charles Mark Carino of Ilion; one son and daughter in law, Frank and Patricia Trimboli of Ilion; one brother, Carl Tony Mastriano of CA; one sister in law, Lena Fiori of AZ; her grandchildren, Frank and his wife, Lindsay Trimboli, Jeannine Trimboli, Carrie Carino and her partner Diana Buitrago and Christine and Chad Binney; seven great grandchildren, Michael, Marielle, Marcus, Maarten, Sophie, Hallie, and Isabella and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Rose M. Hall, one brother, Sam Fiori and her step-father, Joseph Mastriano.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St., Herkimer, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Josephine's memory may be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society, PO Box 73, Mohawk, NY 13407. Envelopes will be available in the church vestibule.
