Frankfort - Mrs. Josephine F. Palumbo, 84, of Third Ave. passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Frankfort, on August 6, 1925, the daughter of the late Carmelo and Mary Juliano LoRe and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Charles Palumbo on September 4, 1948 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Mr. Palumbo passed away on October 11, 2007. Mrs. Palumbo was employed by MDS and later for Hamilton Digital until her retirement in 1986. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, a member of the Columbianna Society and the St. Francis Aux. Josephine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her trips to the casino and playing cards and bingo.
Josephine is survived by one son, Paul Palumbo of Frankfort; two daughters and sons in law, Connie and Christopher Giambrone with whom she had resided in Frankfort and Mary Ann and Thomas Marine of Clinton; two sisters, Betty Tarnacki of Frankfort and Lucy Licari of St. Johnsville; her in laws, Anthony and Marie Palumbo and Florence and Sandy Bono, all of Frankfort; her grandchildren, Lori and her husband, Michael Cook and their children, Michael, Ryan and Brandon; Christopher and his wife, Bré Giambrone and their children, Chase and Ashton; Michael and his wife, Nicole Giambrone and their children, Jack and Michael; Justin and his wife, Muriel Palumbo and their children, Jordan, Jacob, Madylen and Marissa; Melinda and her husband, Carl Vogel and their children, Billy, Sydney, Taryn and Kylie; Adrienne and her husband, Michael Loiacano and their children, Reina and Alexa; Gina and her husband, Matt McLean and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Mary Cross.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
