Mohawk - Mrs. Josephine J. Cotton, 97, of PO Box 306 passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 in Valley Health Services with her family by her side.
She was born in Hartwick, NY on August 27, 1918, the daughter of the late Felix and Lucy Sobon Janiec and she attended Richfield Springs schools. She was married to Leo Synenki on August 17, 1940 in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. Leo passed away on December 4, 1964. Josephine was later married to Arthur Cotton on July 1, 1967 in Dennison Corners Community Church. Art passed away on January 27, 2010.
Josephine was employed by Fibers, Little Falls and later P & K Dress Factory. She was a member of Dennison Corners Community Church and the I.L.G.W.U.
Josephine is survived by one daughter, Janice Reynolds of Cold Brook; one son and daughter in law, Mike and Elsie Synenki of Little Falls; six grandchildren, John and his wife Keisha Reynolds, Floyd and his wife, Wila Reynolds, Laurie Reynolds and her husband, Alphonso, Mary and her husband, Charles Luther, Brian and his wife, Jessica Synenki and Craig Synenki; nineteen great-grandchildren, Conrad, Max, Taylor, Justine, Kyle, Lucas, Floyd, Jr, Jaid, Rageana, Zane, Zander, Savanna, Riley, John Jr, Israel, Eli, Anna, Hanna, Grace and Jeff; six great great grandchildren, Katy, Christopher, Raphael, Logan, Olivia and Zachary; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Margaret Coyne; her son in law, Charles Reynolds; two sisters, Rose Sczerbaniewicz and Eleanor Kroll and her grandson, Jimmy Coyne.
Her funeral arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald King. Interment will be in St Joseph's Cemetery, Richfield Springs. There will be no public calling hours.
