Schuyler - Mr. Joseph E. Tripple, Sr., 78, of 2987 St. Rt. 5, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. He was born in Frankfort on March 29, 1932, the son of the late Thomas and Florence Sgroi Tripple and he attended Frankfort schools. He was married to Shirley Gage on October 31, 1954 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Mr. and Mrs. Tripple were the owners and operators of Tripple's Countryside Produce, Schuyler for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member St. Francis Di Paolo Society, Frankfort. He was also the recipient of the John A. LaPolla VFW Post #8728 Community Service Award on April 24, 2010. Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Tripple, two daughters and one son in law, Donna and Bernie Gerrer of Albany and Linda Tripple of Schuyler; two sons and daughters in law, Joseph and Theresa Tripple, Jr. of Frankfort and Steven and Jenny Tripple of Schuyler; his mother in law, Doris Gage of Ilion; his in laws, Beatrice Tripoli of Schuyler, Eva Tripple of Mohawk, Charlotte Reynolds of Ilion and Ronald Gage of FL; seven grandchildren, Joseph Tripple, Kayla Tripple, Nicholas Gerrer, Benjamin Gerrer, Amanda Tripple, Leea Tripple and Shannon Tripple; one great granddaughter, Emma Tripple and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by five sisters, Mary Bommarito, Florence Loiacono, Mamie Bereza, Sarah Agastaro and Josephine Tripple and four brothers, Charles Tripple, Michael Tripple, John Tripoli and Anthony Tripoli. His funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 11:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the St. Francis Society will meet Friday evening at 6:30 at the funeral home for services. Joe's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Doctors and nurses at St Elizabeth's Medical Center, Schuyler Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Kunkle Ambulance, Robert Perri, Scott Gay, Susan Tripple and Theresa Tripple for their tremendous efforts in trying to revive him.
