Mr. Joseph J. Rappa Frankfort - Schuyler - Mr. Joseph J. Rappa, 90, of 139 Church Rd Schuyler passed away Sunday, December 5, 2004 in Valley Health Services. He was born in Frankfort on August 26, 1914, the son of the late Beneditto and Francesca Licari Rappa and attended Frankfort schools. He was married to Mildred Kukis on June 24, 1939 in St. Mary´s Church, Frankfort. Mrs. Rappa passed away on October 25, 1997. He was a self employed farmer in Schuyler for many years. Mr. Rappa later was employed in the Maintanence Department for Frankfort-Schuyler Central Schools, Frankfort for many years until his retirement in 1979. He was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church and a former member of Ilion Moose Lodge, Marcy Moose Lodge and Ilion Elks. Mr. Rappa is survived by two daughters & one son in law, Jeanette & Gerald Teller-Schloemer of Mc Henry, IL and Seleena Rappa of Schuyler; four sons, John J. Rappa of The Villages, Fl., Harold Rappa of Mohawk, Joseph Kozlowski of Schuyler and Michael La Rocco of Panama City, FL; one sister, Mary Barbuto of Frankfort; ten grandchildren, Brenda Stevens, Audrey Teller, Eric Rappa, Sharon & her husband, Thomas Calarco, Paul Donnelly, Elaina Donnelly, Marc Donnelly, Nicole Rappa, Richard Rappa and Monica Rappa; four great grandchildren, Danielle Morales, Alexander Stevens, Deanna Calarco and Caitlyn Calarco; one great great grandson, Joseph Michael Morales and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four sisters, Nina Simonette, Betty Palumbo, Florence Nicastro and Jennie De Rosa and two brothers, Tito Rappa and John Rappa. His funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:00 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 9:30 AM in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, Pastor Emeritus. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Contributions in Mr. Rappa´s memory maybe made to Valley Health Services. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.iocovozzifuneralhomes.com.
