Mr. Joseph S. Nicastro
Frankfort - Mr. Joseph S. Nicastro, 91, of 3761 South Side Road passed away Saturday, August 6, 2005 in St. Luke´s Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Frankfort on January 7, 1914, the son of the late Calogero and Providenza Caruso Nicastro and he attended Frankfort schools. He was married to Betty Jean Townsend on August 31, 1949 in Frankfort. Mrs. Nicastro passed away on October 28, 1994. Joe and his brother, Cross were the co owners and operators of Riverside Farms, Frankfort for many years until his retirement in 1976. He was a Communcant of Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church.
Joseph is survived by three sons and two daughters in law, Joseph & Mari Beth Nicastro of Frankfort, Thomas & Barbara Nicastro of Weirton, W. Va. and Christopher Nicastro of Frankfort; three daughters & two sons in law, Florence & Raymond Poole of Ossining, NY; Rose Ann Nicastro of Daytona Beach, Fl. and Lucy & Matthew Westgate of Hillsborough, NJ; three sisters & one brother in law, Lucille De Gristina of Mohawk, Anna Carney of Frankfort and Clara & Leo Digristina of Schuyler; his grandchildren, Luciano & his wife, Diane Lama Esq., Dr. Michael Lama, Cassandra Nicastro, Karina Nicastro, Amanda Nicastro, Hilary Westgate, Kelly Westgate, Megan Westgate, Alyssa Nicastro and Krystina Nicastro and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, David Nicastro on August 5, 1997, step father, James Di Maggio, one brother, Cross Nicastro and two sisters, Rose Manino and Mary Caruso.
His funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9:15 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
