Mr. Joseph C. Nalaskowski
Herkimer - Mr. Joseph C. Nalaskowski, 79, of 319½ Pleasant Ave passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital, Houston, TX.
He was born in Little Falls on November 5, 1927, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Marcewicz Nalaskowski and he attended West Winfield schools. Joe served during World War II with the US Navy in the Pacific Theater and was Honorably Discharged on August 9, 1946. He was married to Alice Makohen on January 18, 1952 in Herkimer. Alice passed away on November 29, 2005. Mr. Nalaskowski was employed as a Polisher for Remington Arms for many years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Mohawk Reformed Church, V.F.W Post #4915, Herkimer and the American Legion Post #38, Herkimer.
Joe is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and James Hill of Baytown, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph P. and Robin Nalaskowski of Herkimer; his grandchildren, Zachary Hill, Selena Lynne Nalaskowski and Torri May Nalaskowski; two sisters, Helen Miller of Little Falls and Jenny Foster of Dolgeville; one brother, Bill Nalaskowski of Richfield Springs; his sister in law, Mary Morse of Mohawk and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four sisters, Bessie Goalowicz, Mary Pavalock, Stella Petkovsek and Lottie Metott.
His funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 12:00 pm from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer with the Rev. Brian Engel, Pastor of Mohawk Reformed Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by the members of the US Navy. Calling Hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Members of the American Legion will meet Friday evening at 7:15 at the funeral home for services.
