Frankfort - Mr. Joseph D. Bianchi, 91, of 405 Third Ave. Ext. passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with his family by his side.
He was born in Frankfort on August 3, 1923, the son of the late George and Josephine Chard Bianchi, Sr. and he attended Frankfort schools. He served in the US Army with the 20th Medical Depot during World War II and was Honorably Discharged on January 9, 1946 with the rank of Technical Sergeant. Joe was married to Mary Internicola on February 10, 1945 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Joseph was employed as an Expeditor for Univac in both the Ilion & Utica Plants. Following Joe's retirement, he worked in the Maintenance Department for the Town of Frankfort for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Bianchi; one son, George Bianchi of Frankfort; three grandsons, Joseph and his wife, Gwen Bianchi of Rochester, George Bianchi of FL and Michael Bianchi of GA; brother in law and sister in law, Joseph and Joyce Internicola of Sunapee, NH and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by six brothers, Anthony Bianchi, Nick Bianchi, Alex Bianchi, Frank Bianchi, George Bianchi and Dominick Bianchi; his mother in law and father in law, Anna and Joseph Internicola.
His funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St. Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena, pastor. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military honors. There will be no public calling hours.
Joe's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center and the Folts Home for the wonderful care and compassion shown to him during his stay and passing. A special thank you to Clara Verdura for always being there to help and for being a friend to Joe and Mary.
