John M. Luczka Jr
Schuyler - John M. Luczka Jr, 81, of Schuyler passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at home with his family by his side.
He was born in Utica, New York on March 10, 1944, the son of the late John M. and Genevieve Babicz Luczka Sr. He attended Whitesboro schools and graduated from Whitesboro High School with the class of 1962. He served with the US Navy aboard the USS Van Voorhis during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged on August 6, 1965. He was married to Phyllis Flood on June 15, 1968 in Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica. He was a Master Tool Maker for Remington Arms Co., Ilion and retired in 2003. He later was employed by AAR and Fountainhead, Utica for many years. John was an owner operator for Arctic Air Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Repair. John was a communicant of St. Francis DeSales Church.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; one son and daughter in law, John and his wife, Korinne Luczka III of Schuyler; three daughters and two sons in law, Evanne and her husband, Brian Hanisco of Phoenixville PA, Deanna and her husband, Emmanuel Olivas of Phoenixville PA and Jennifer Lynn Luczka of Royersford PA; one sister and brother in law, Christine and her husband, John Huber of Goshen IN; seven grandchildren, Kathryn Hanisco, Noah Olivas, Lucas Olivas, Tyler Humphreville, Andrew French, Claudia French and Alexander French; his in laws, Barbara D’Angelo and her companion, Joe Alberico, Andrew Flood, Gerald and Monica Flood and James and Maggie Flood; his cousin, Linda Budilowsky and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral will be held Thursday morning at 8:45 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 9:30 AM in St. Francis DeSales Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Babiuch. Full Military Honors will be accorded at church. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 30 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.
