Mr. John B. Brandano Shawnee, Ok. - Herkimer - Mr. John B. Brandano, 74, of 4007 Blaine Rd passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2005 peacefully in his home. He was born in Herkimer on January 6, 1931, the son of the late Battista Pat and Amelia Forcucci Brandano. He attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. He was married to Ida B. Gosnell in March of 1968 in Shawnee, Ok. Mrs. Brandano passed away on February 11, 1999. Mr. Brandano was employed as the Air Force's Inventory Control Manager providing logistic support to military aircraft for the Strategic Air Command's B 52 program at Rome Air Material Area of Griffiss Air Force Base and later for Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Ok until his retirement in 1993. He was a former Communicant of Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church. John is survived by his step son, Mark Antony Wray of Nashville, Tn; his step daughter & son in law, Anthea Wray & her husband, Greg Burch of Houston, TX; two brothers & one sister in law, Benny & Olga Brandano of Mohawk and Anthony Brandano of Frankfort; two sisters & one brother in law, Jenny & John Rota of Ilion and Angie Gallo of Sun City, CA; his grandchildren, Kristen Wray, Cameron Wray, Carlton Wray, Timothy Wray, Jeremy Wray, Jonas Wray and Jaz Wray; his nephews and nieces, Ralph Savage, Jennifer Rota, John D. Brandano, Edward Brandano, Patrick Brandano, Susan Donnell, Maryann Kaszycki, Cheryl Devenney, David Pellerito and Peter Pellerito and several cousins. He was predeceased by his step son, Col Buck Wray US Army Ret on July 10, 1997, one brother, Joseph Brandano in 1929, three sisters, Anne Pellerito in 1958, Elvira Brandano in 1998 and Mary B. Savage in 2001, one niece, Annette Gadziala in 1998, one nephew, Thomas Gallo n 1998 and three brothers in law, Peter Gallo, Ralph Savage Sr and Peter Pellerito Sr. His funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 1:00 pm from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 1:30 pm in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Sunday from 4-7 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home.
