Joann M. Maneen

Frankfort - Ms. JoAnn M. Maneen, 67, of 128 Cemetery St. passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Ilion on August 5, 1945, the daughter of the late Peter and Julia Agnes Schiavi Maneen and she attended Frankfort schools, graduating from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1963. She attended HCCC, Utica College and SUNY Brockport and received her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Oneonta in 1973. She went on to earn her Master's Degree in Education from SUNY Cortland, graduating with the class of 1976. JoAnn and her sister Theresa together were the Owner and Operators of the Balloon Farm Bed and Breakfast for many years. JoAnn also was employed as an Elementary School Teacher at St. Mary's School and later at West Frankfort Elementary School until her retirement in 2005. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, a member of the CNY Bed and Breakfast Association, a Stanley Theater Volunteer and a member of the NYS Retired Teachers Association. JoAnn is survived by her beloved sister, Theresa Maneen of Frankfort, her aunt, Mary Maneen of Ilion and several cousins. Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 4-7 at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
