Ilion - Jill Anne Young, 84, of Ilion passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 in Foltsbrook with her family by her side.

She was born in Herkimer, on February 24, 1940, the daughter of the late Francis and Daisy Larkin Young. She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1958. Jill was employed by Holiday Inn, Utica for many years.  Jill was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and attended St. Francis De Sales Church.

Jill is survived by two s ons, Darrell and Katie Doolen of Ilion and James and Carla Doolen of Frankfort ; her daughter-in-law, Florence Doolen of Herkimer three brothers and one sister in law, Jack Young of Ilion, Darrell "Jim" and Patricia Young of Little Falls and Neil Young of Herkimer; three sisters and one brother in law, Dawn Kucerak of Herkimer, Terry Kondratowicz and Ronnie and Frank Daubach all of Mohawk; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her life partner, Michael Doolen on May 28, 1992; two sons, Michael Doolen on July 21, 1976 and David Doolen on February 26, 2018; one daughter, Anne M Doolen on March 20, 2013; her siblings, Sharon Carmardello, Duane Young, Dale McCaw, Darlene Reynolds, Francis “Pat” Young, Sherry Lynch, Joleen George, Charice Young and Phyllis Moffatt.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning, January 29, 2025 at 9:45 AM from the V. J.  Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena, pastor. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 28 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the V. J.  Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.

Jill’s family would like to thanks the nurses and staff of Foltsbrook for the exceptional care and kindness shown to her during her stay and passing.
