Herkimer - Mr. Jerry P. Licari, 90, of 105 Protection Ave. formerly of Canal St., Frankfort passed away peacefully Thursday, April 26, 2012 with his family by his side. He was born in Frankfort on December 19, 1921, the son of the late Giralamo and Vencenzia Jennie Micciche Licari. He attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1940. He served with the US Army during World War II in the China Burma India Theater and was Honorably Discharged on December 23, 1945 with the rank of Sergeant. Jerry was married to Helen Bolicki on June 19, 1943 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. He was employed as a Quality Control Engineer for Bendix, later Lucas Aerospace of Utica until his retirement in 1985. Following his retirement, he worked as a Consultant for several local factories as a Process Engineer. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the American Legion Post #845, Frankfort as well as the Young At Heart Senior Citizens and served as Past President. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Helen Licari; two sons and daughters in law, Jerry and Helen Licari of Frankfort and Robert and Deborah Licari of Herkimer; two sisters and one brother in law, Mary LaMonica of Frankfort, Frances Angelicchio of Ilion and Caroline and Alfred Amendolare of Frankfort; two grandchildren, Robert J. Licari and Tracy Licari as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four sisters, Josephine Rolchigo, Frances Licari, Florence Licari and Rose Rizzo; and one brother, John Licari. His funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barratt and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 29 from 4-7 at V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Young At Heart Senior Citizens will meet Sunday at 4:15 and the American Legion at 6:15 at the funeral home for services.
