Jennie N. Dowhaniak

Mrs. Jennie N. Dowhaniak Herkimer - Mrs. Jennie N. Dowhaniak, 80, formerly of King St. passed away Monday, March 20, 2006 in Folts Home. She was born in Frankfort on September 5, 1925, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth Quarneri Marchese and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Walter Dowhaniak on July 2, 1948 in St. Mary´s Church, Frankfort. Mr. Dowhaniak passed away on February 9, 1967. Mrs. Dowhaniak was at one time employed as a floor lady, for Allegro Shoes, Little Falls and later as a nurse´s assistant for Herkimer Memorial Hospital. She was later employed as a nurse's assistant for Folts Home, Herkimer until her retirement in 1982. She was a Communicant of Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church. Jennie is survived by her son, Conrad Dowhaniak of Herkimer and his children, Ann Marie and Walter John and Jennie's great grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew James and Sam; her son & daughter in law, Salvatore & Susan Dowhaniak of Merced, CA; her daughter & son in law, Frances and Jan Bishal of Herkimer and their children, Emily Anne, Ryan, Kristine Bishal and Jana Bishal; one brother & sister in law, Sam and Nadine Marchese of Little Falls; five sisters & one brother in law, Florence Quatrino, Josephine and Walter Ostacz and Rosalie Durkey all of Little Falls, Mary Stephaniak of St. Johnsville and Elizabeth Donavan of SC; her sisters in law, Connie Dowhaniak and Marion Marchese and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Frank Marchese. Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:00 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:30 am in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery later this spring. Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 5-7 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home.
