Jasper Anthony Pizzo

Jasper Anthony Pizzo, age 95, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Ilion, New York.

He was born in the Bronx, New York City on June 13, 1928, the son of the late Salvatore (Sam) Pizzo and Mary Domenica (Guiliano) Pizzo. Jasper attended NYC schools and graduated from Frankfort High School.   He is survived by and lovingly remembered by his children, stepchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.

Raised in Frankfort, New York, he proudly served his country for two enlistments with the US Army as a soldier with the Army of the Occupation in Japan and later Korean War and attained the rank of Corporal and was Honorable Discharged on October 3, 1953. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star. Jasper later moved to San Francisco, CA, where he earned his degree in Economics from San Francisco State College.  An incredibly forward-thinking man, he had careers in Banking, Consulting, Teaching and Farming.  From the West Coast to the East Coast, he never slowed down, residing in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, and finally settling back in his beloved Frankfort.  Jasper had a lifelong love of classical music, opera and cinema. Jasper was passionate about traveling and was always planning his next adventure.

His graveside service will be held later this spring with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full Military Honors. A celebration of his life will take place in the spring of this year with details to be announced as soon as arrangements are finalized.

His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., Frankfort.
