Janina Jean Kolody

Mrs. Janina "Jean" Kolody Herkimer - Janina "Jean" Kolody, 79, of 712 Ronald Street passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 17, 2005 at her residence. She was born on January 10, 1926 in Wisiowiec, Poland, the daughter of the late John and Julie Wiocek Tomasiewicz and attended schools there. On July 17, 1948, she married Dennis Kolody in London, England. Mr. and Mrs. Kolody came to America in 1950 and later moved to Herkimer in 1977. Mr. Kolody passed away January 21, 2000. Jean owner and operator with her husband the Herkimer Liquor Store on Main Street until their retirement in 1987. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church and a member of the Herkimer Ladies Kiawanis Club. Jean is survived by her sister, Helen Wapiennik of Milford, CT; her brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Helen Tomasiewicz of Frankfort; her sister-in-law, Helen Tomasiewicz and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her funeral will be held 9:15 am, Monday from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 AM in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church where a Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
