Janice A. Szuba

Herkimer - Mrs. Janice A. Szuba, 62, of 332 Eureka Ave. passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Herkimer on July 26, 1951, the daughter of Jennie Kinney Fasolilli and the late Fernando Fasolilli. She attended Herkimer Schools, graduating with the class of 1969 and later attended HCCC. She was married to John Szuba on October 5, 1974 in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. Janice was employed as Assistant Activities Director for Valley Health Services in Herkimer for many years. She was a member of the Addolorata Society in Frankfort and a Communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church in Herkimer. She is survived by her beloved husband, John Szuba of Herkimer; her mother, Jennie Fasolilli of Herkimer; three daughters and two sons in law, Joanne and Ryan DeMars of Herkimer, Jessica and James Dygert of Mohawk and Jennifer Szuba of Herkimer; one sister, Mary Ann Ruggiero of Little Falls; one brother and sister in law, Alexander and Linda Fasolilli of Herkimer; her brother in law, Richard Ruggiero; four grandchildren, Megan Szuba, Sophia Dygert, Michael DeMars and Anthony DeMars and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer, and at 9:30 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Lawless. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Calling hours will be held Monday evening from 4-8 PM at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
