Janet Hollister Frank

Mrs. Janet Hollister Frank Frankfort-Fair Oaks, CA - Mrs. Janet Hollister Frank, 77, of Fair Oaks, CA formerly of Frankfort passed away Monday, June 12, 2006 in Fair Oaks after a year long battle with cancer. She was born in Ilion on August 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Newcomb Degene and Leta Ackler Hollister. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1946. Janet later attended and graduated from Crouse Irving School of Nursing, Syracuse as a Registered Nurse in 1950 and later received her B.S. degree in Nursing from Syracuse University in 1965. She was married to Albert V. Frank on January 6, 1951 in St. Mary´s Church, Frankfort. Mr. Frank passed away on May 4, 1990. Mrs. Frank was a Registered Nurse at Griffiss Air Force Base and later Rome Hospital until her family moved to California in 1965. Following the family's relocation to California, she practiced nursing at the Roseville Community Hospital, Roseville, CA from 1965 until her retirement in 1990. Following her retirement, she subsequently worked in nursing homes and as a nursing volunteer throughout Sacramento County. She was a former Communicant of Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church. Janet is survived by two daughters & sons in law, Lori & Brian Skinner of Salt Lake City and Lisa & James Gilmore of Fair Oaks, CA; one son & daughter in law, Jon Franchino & Janet Gilchrist of Denver, CO; three grandsons, David Oster, Zachary Gilmore and Nathan Gilmore; one brother, Gary Hollister of Cornelius, NC her sisters in law, Christine Hollister, Aurora "Daver" Frank, Florence Frank and Wanda "Sue" Frank and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 am in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday morning from 10:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
