James A. Spatto

James Spatto, 71, passed away on October 17, 2025, in Wynn Hospital with his family and his nephew, Steve Donlon and niece, Ana Rosado by his side.

Jimmy Spatto was born on March 5, 1954 in Herkimer, NY, to the late Frank Spatto and Elma Spatto. Jimmy attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1973. Jimmy married Diane Crews on July 26, 1975 in St. Mary’s Church by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna. He was employed as a Machine Specialist a position he truly loved for Remington Arms for many years and retired in 2016 after 45 years of service. Jimmy and Diane were the owners and operators of Spatto Farm and Paradise Maple. He was a member of NYS Maple Association, EMA Union and served as a Union Rep., Coal Miners Union and served as a Union Rep. and NYS Rifle and Pistol Association. His love was his family and visiting with people and his farm. He collected old farm equipment, played Santa at Newville Union Church and was an avid hunter.

Jimmy is survived by cherished wife, Diane Spatto of Little Falls; his daughter, Heather Spatto and her companion, Zachary Nobile; two granddaughters and he was known as Poppy who, Vanessa and Logan Cochis and Victoria and Colton Lucas and their father, John W. Dillenbeck Jr.; his great grandchildren and called him, poppy who who, Willow Warn and Samuel Cochis; his mother in law, Irma Crews; Jimmy’s brothers and sisters, Terry and Beverly Donlon, Beatrice Spears, Florence and John Dwyer, his twin brother, Dan and Linda Spatto and Mayme and Rich Signorino; his in laws, Linda Spatto, Nancy DeLuca, Howard and Rose Crews, Mark and Donna Crews, Debbie and James Victor, Valerie and George Gay, Cheryl and Matthew Liddon and Veronica and Kevin Sullivan; special friends, Mark Crews, Tim Moore and Toby Berberick that were by his side during his illness and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim is preceded in death by his brother, Frank Spatto on October 1, 2025; nephew, Jason Sullivan; his father in law, Clifford Crews and his brother in law, Peter DeLuca.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, October 27, 2025 at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, South Frankfort St., Frankfort by Rev. Paul Catena, Pastor.
