James M. Palumbo
Frankfort - James M. Palumbo, 90, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, in Bassett Health Care with his family by his side.
He was born in Frankfort, New York, on May 29, 1935, the son of the late Frank and Theresa Chard Palumbo and he attended Frankfort schools. He was married to Mary Fran Vivacqua on June 9, 1956, in St. Mary's Church. James was a warehouse man for Gardner Warehouse, Frankfort and later as a warehouse manager for Beechgrove Warehouse, Utica, NY, until retirement in 1997. Jim loved his farm and gardening, he was the owner and operator of Palumbo’s Farm, Schuyler and Uncle Jim’s Chuck Wagon. Following his retirement, he was known for his homemade sausage. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Addolorata Society, and a past member of the Schuyler Volunteer Fire Department.
Jim survived by his beloved wife, Mary Fran; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sandra Palumbo, and Mark and Maria Palumbo, all of Schuyler; one daughter, Lisa Palumbo, of Clinton, NY; his grandchildren, Jamie and her husband, Marcus Sykes, Mark and his wife, Jamie Palumbo Jr, Kim and her husband, Ryan Amuso, Kris and his wife, Julie Palumbo, Dante Palumbo, James Zalocha Jr, Matthew Zalocha, Mark Treen and Jesse Treen Sr.; his great-grandchildren, Madison Zalocha, Parker Zalocha, Hunter Palumbo, Jesse Treen Jr., Aiden Palumbo and Branson Palumbo; one sister-in-law, Terri Palumbo of Frankfort; one brother-in-law, Nick Vivacqua of Frankfort, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Frank Palumbo, Phyllis Fiorentino, George Palumbo, Alex Palumbo, Joseph Palumbo, Rose Bellino, and Frances Tomaino.
His funeral will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home Inc., 203 Second Ave, Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by his cousin, Rev. Frank Vivacqua. Interment will be in Mt Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday, July 19 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.
