James Joseph Newton

Frankfort - James Joseph Newton, 64, of Frankfort passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023 in Mohawk Valley Health Care Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Manhattan, New York on December 1, 1958, the son of the late Naomi Newton and he attended New York City schools. Jay was employed as a DSP for NYS Development for the Mentally Disabled, Port Jarvis, NY until his retirement in 2018.

Jay is survived by his beloved companion, Jessica Dahlgreen; three sons, Joshua Newton of Newburgh, Jay Newton of Colorado and Tyler Newton at home; two daughters, Latoya Newton and Jessica Newton both of New York City; one sister, Virginia Newton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. His funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort.
