Frankfort - Mr. James David Branck, 71, of 404 Fourth Ave. Ext. passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in his home with his loving family by his side after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He was born in Ilion on December 31, 1942, the son of the late James J. and Margaret DeJohn Branck. He attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1960. He later attended and graduated from MVTI (MVCC) and received his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged from the US Army Reserves on April 17, 1970 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was married to Janice Talerico on July 15, 1967 in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Utica. Jim was a Senior Staff Engineer for PAR Tech Inc., New Hartford where he held many patents, until his retirement on July 30, 2014 after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, a member of the St. Francis Di Paolo Society, a former member of Wellesley Island Golf Course, Coliseum Soccer and past Vice President and a twelve year member of the Frankfort Schuyler Central School Board serving as a past President and Past Vice President. Jim will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. People loved to be around Jim because of his huge personality and his love for life. His family was his life and he always showed them unconditional love. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Janice Branck; three daughters and sons in law, Jana and Christopher Lambert of Frankfort, Jacqua Branck and Mark Meelan of Clinton and Janelle and Michael Berube of Middleboro, MA; one son and daughter in law, James and Mirela Branck, Jr. of Liverpool; one brother and sister in law, George and Patricia Branck of Frankfort; three grandchildren, Victoria Lambert, Andrew Lambert and Nathan Berube; his in laws, Ann and Thomas Demidow of Clinton and Frederick and Gwyn Talerico of Rome; his aunts and uncle, Josephine Branck, Frances De John, Jane Talerico and Thomas and Lucy Talerico; nieces and nephews, Nicole and Chuck Redmond, Lisa Branck and Dylan Wheat, Trisha and Evan Bardua, Frederick D. Talerico and Paul Talerico; close friends and neighbors, the Alsante Family; Charles and Rosemary Coppola for the daily visits; the members of his PAR family for all the care, kindness and support given to Jim and his friends on the River for all the care they showed him. His funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:30 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday evening from 4-8 at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the St. Francis Society will meet Sunday evening at 7:00 at the funeral home for services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's memory may be made to AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, 125 S. Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Jim's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Fred Talarico and Dr. Steven Graziano and staff for the wonderful care shown to him during his illness and passing.
