Iris M. Stark

Mohawk - Mrs. Iris Stark, 80, of 39 Columbia St passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008 peacefully in her home. She was born in Erin, WV on January 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Vasco N. and Leatha Ferguson Eller and she attended schools there. She was married to John P. Stark Sr. on July 6, 1946 in the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer with the Rev. Fred Cotnam, officiating. Mr. Stark passed away on February 11, 2002. Mrs. Stark was at one time employed by Univac for many years. She was a member of Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer and a member of both the Maple Crest Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon golf leagues. Mrs. Stark is survived by one son & daughter in law, Jerry & Pat Stark of Westford, MA; one daughter & son in law, Janice And Owen Toale of Medina, NY; one daughter in law, Michele Stark of Cortland; two sisters, Ett Colella and Midge Beadling; two brothers, Jack Eller and Lindy Eller; her six grandsons, Benjamin & his wife, Katie Toale of Loveland, CO, Andrew Toale of Buffalo, John P. Stark III of Cortland, James & his wife, Jennifer Stark of Oneonta, Jeremy Stark and Joel Stark both of Westford, MA; one great granddaughter, Madalyn Stark; her very special nephew & niece, Peter and Wanda Gifford of Herkimer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, John Stark Jr. on December 20, 2003 and two brothers, Huddle Ferguson and Bud Eller. Her funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Mohawk Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Dennis, pastor of Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer.
