Irene M. Rycharski

Herkimer - Mrs. Irene M. Rycharski, 83, of 1014 Steuben St passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008 in Mohawk Valley Nursing Home. She was born in Herkimer on April 18, 1925, the daughter of the late Michael F. and Alexandria Alice Slotkiewicz Luzak and she attended Herkimer schools. She was married to Leo Rycharski on February 7, 1947 in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer by the Rev. Vincent Nowak. Irene was employed by the Herkimer Public Library for many years. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and a member of it's Rosary Society and a member of the Herkimer Garden Club. Irene is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Leo Rycharski; one daughter & son in law, Barbara & William Dwyer of New Paltz and several cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sister & brother in law, Florence & Donald Taubert on September 6, 1993. Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:00 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:30 am in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Vail. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Members of the Rosary Society will meet Wednesday evening at 6:00 at the funeral home for services.
