Irene B. Gos

Rochester - E. Herkimer - Mrs. Irene B. Gos, 88, of 118 Strathmore Dr., Rochester formerly of E. Herkimer, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in St. John's Nursing Home, Rochester. Irene was born in Herkimer on August 22, 1922, the daughter of the late Stanley and Edna Norejko. She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. Irene was married to Salvatore "Sharkey" Gos on January 20, 1945 in St. Joseph's Rectory, Herkimer. Mr. Gos passed away on November 22, 1997. Irene worked in the Quality Control Department for MDS, Herkimer for many years. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church. Irene is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Morse of Rochester; her son in law, Douglas Brinck of Dolgeville; her grandchildren, Justin Morse and his wife, Leah of Rochester, Kenneth Brinck and his wife, Barbara of E. Herkimer, Jeffrey Brinck and his wife, Andrea of Portland, ME, Kristin and her husband, Michael Metz of Dolgeville; six great grandchildren, Eileen Brinck, Isaac Brinck, Nathan Brinck, Josephine Morse, Desmond Morse and Emily Metz as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one daughter, Patricia A. Brinck on November 21, 2002; one brother, Chester Norejko and two sisters, Bernadette Gurtowski and Gertrude Kuncik. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer and are incomplete at this time.
