Mrs. Helen I. Rinko Herkimer - Mrs. Helen I. Rinko, 86, of 230 E. Smith St passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 in her home with her family by her side. She was born in Herkimer on June 19, 1930, the daughter of the late Forrest and Anastasia Czernecki Jackson. She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. She was married to Joseph Rinko on November 27, 1948 in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. Joe passed away on June 21, 2011. Helen was at one time employed by Derby Sportswear. Helen is survived by one daughter, Darleen Cancelino; four sons, Joseph Rinko Jr, Mark Rinko, George Rinko and Richard Rinko; seven grandchildren, Donald Grogan, Richard Cancelino, Justin Galde-Rinko, Chad Rinko, Kendra Rinko, Nicole Rinko and Bianca Rinko-Bollen; five great-grandchildren, Kayla Grogan, Samantha Grogan, Hayden Holland, Kimber Rinko and Bentley Rinko; her brother and sister in law, Forrest "Jack" and Jean Jackson Jr.; her in laws, John and Jean Rinko, Paul and Mary Kate Rinko and Darlene Jackson; her close friends, Mary Czernecki and Jean Czarnecki; Helen's childhood friend, Addy Fiorentino and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Huckabone, two grandchildren, Laura Huckabone and Warren Huckabone, father in law and mother in law, Michael and Anna Rinko, one brother, Richard Jackson; her in laws, Anthony Rinko, George Rinko, Michael Rinko Jr, and Henry and Mary Rinko Sokolowski, and her son in law, Richard P. Cancelino. Her funeral will be held Thursday evening at 6:00 PM in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 16 from 3-6 pm at Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home. Helen's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Alicia De Traglia, Nurse Annie and as their mom would say, "her girls at Faxton Cancer Center" and the entire Hospice staff for the wonderful care shown to her during her illness and passing.
