Mrs. Helen Glogowski
Herkimer - Mrs. Helen Glogowski, 87, of 246 E. Steele St passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was born on the family farm in Poland on March 28, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Marashalz Ozog and she attended Poland Schools. She was married to Walter "Baldy" Glogowski on August 1, 1953 in St. John's Church, Newport. Baldy passed away on June 17, 1986. Helen was employed as an Administrative Assistant for Univac Ilion & Utica Plants and later employed by Chicago Pneumatic. She even had a short stint as an advertising model. Helen was a spirited and caring person who enjoyed time with her family and friends. She loved the country, especially the farm she grew up on, and getting together with family and friends for fun and laughs. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church. Helen enriched all of our lives and will be greatly missed.
Helen is survived by two sons and daughter in law, John Glogowski of Herkimer and Walter and Lisa Glogowski Jr. of Poughkeepsie; one daughter, Cindy Edwards of Utica; one grandson and his wife, Brian and his wife, Minyele Glogowski; one great granddaughter, Olivia Glogowski; two sisters, Valeria Polczynski of Poland and Agnes Ozog of Clinton; one brother, Edward Ozog who still resides on the family farm in Poland; her nieces and nephews, Dottie, Edward, Connie and Ted and his daughter, Amie, Jean, Carol, Billy and Joe many of whom were there for her during her final days. She was predeceased by brother and sister-in-law, Joseph And Plink Ozog, brother, Stanley Ozog, brother in law, Ted Polczynski, sister in law, Barbara Hall Ozog who she and her sisters loved to take adventurous car rides with exploring the local country side.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:00 in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Leo Potvin. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, February 15 from 4-7 PM at Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
