Mrs. Helen Fiorenza

Utica – Mrs. Helen Fiorenza, 89, of Utica passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at home with her family by her side.

She was born in Ilion on November 23, 1928, the daughter of the late Carlton and Zinowya Kozachuk. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1945. She was married to Joseph Fiorenza on September 3, 1949 in Frankfort United Methodist Church. Joseph passed away on December 30, 2002. Helen was employed by Univac, Utica plant until her  retirement in 1980. Following her retirement, she was employed as a greeter for Walmart, N. Utica for many years. Helen was a member of Morning Star Ministry.

Helen is survived by her daughter and son in law, Debbie and Paul Tennis of Frankfort; two granddaughters, Amanda and her husband, Christopher Bannister and Katelyn and her husband, Raymond Hughes, one great grandson, Evan Joseph Bannister; her in laws, Philip and Marie Fiorenza of Boonville and Carm Eddy of Frankfort; her longtime friend, Betty Thomas of Rome; her beloved feline companion, Jimmy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort with the Rev. Robert Wollaber, officiating. Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 4-7 at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen's memory may be made to Stevens Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St, Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
