Mr. Harold D. Goodwin
Schuyler- Mr. Harold D. Goodwin, 78, of 523 Mowers Rd passed away Monday, July 10, 2006 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.
He was born in Ballston Spa on December 20, 1927, the son of the late Harry J. and Mary Keyser Goodwin and he attended Ballston Spa schools. He was married to Rita Mower on June 29, 1948 in Ballston Spa. A blessed union of 58 years. He was at one time employed by the US Army Depot, Scotia. Harold and his wife, Rita, were the fourth generation on their family farm, the Edgewood Farm. The farming tradition is being continued by the fifth generation, daughter, Dale and son, Harold. Harold loved the outdoors where he spent most of his daylight hours. He loved to work the land, fish, hunt, especially white tail deer and logging. During the Herkimer County Fair, he loved to participate in the tractor pull contest. He was a loving husband, father grandfather and friend. A gentle but strong man whose word and handshake were his bond. He was a man who taught so much to so many. He will be greatly missed but his memory will live on in our hearts.
Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Goodwin; one son, Harold A. Goodwin on the homestead; five daughters & sons in law, Marion & James Hall of Middleville, Betty & Robert Kemler of Newport, Donna & Thomas Gross of Schuyler, Dale & Scott Worden on the homestead and Lori & John Des Jardins, Schuyler; his grandchildren, Jamie & Michelle Hall, Chrisie & Fred Ludwig, Craig & Connie Kemler, Carrie & A J Roark, Jason Hamilton, Jillian Gross, Whitney Worden, Codi Worden, Toby Des Jardins, Lily Des Jardins, Hana Goodwin and Harold Nathan Goodwin; his great Grandchildren, Zoey, Caden, Camerohn, Krystyna, Casey, Robert, Carliza and Caimin; three sisters& one brother in law: Helen Dalbey of Albany, Ruth & Wilbur Kinns of Malta and Shirley Hayes of Kansas City, MO and several nieces, nephews cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Frank H. Goodwin, the two left no stones unturned.
His funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. Robert Lindsay. Interment will be on the family farm. Calling hours will be Wednesday 6:30 to 9:30 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Harold's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all his friends who showed him so much support during his illness and passing.
