Frankfort – Mrs. Grace M. Cardinal, 98, of Frankfort, passed away, Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Valley Health Services with her family by her side.

She was born in Frankfort on February 14, 1920, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Concetta LaPuma Zito. She was married to Angelo Cardinal on January 12, 1946 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Angelo passed away on June 24, 2002. Grace was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Young At Heart Senior Citizens

Grace is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Anthony and Sue Cardinal of Cincinnati, OH, John and Janice Cardinal of Orchard Park, NY; one sister, Nina Van Valkenburg of Ilion; one sister in law, Rose Zito; six grandchildren, Arica and Doug Harrell, Jill and Bryan Billhimer, Jared and Lauren Cardinal, Jennifer and Sam Chimera and Matthew Cardinal; her great-grandchildren, Joseph, Anna, Ava, Olivia, Claire and Caleb and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters in law, Jack and Stephanie Zito, Frank and Mary Zito, Ben and Jane Zito and Paul Zito, one sister and brother in law, Mary and Sam DiMartin and her in laws, Donald Van Valkenburg and Josie and Frank Ruffalo.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning, March 20, 2018 at 9:45 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort, and at 10:30 AM where a funeral mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Young at Heart Seniors will meet Monday evening at 4:15 for services.
