Frankfort - Mr. Francis J. "Herbie" Spatol, Jr., 67, of 206 First Ave. passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Ilion on April 7, 1945, the son of the late Frank John and Mary Rose Miranto Spatol. He attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler High School with the class of 1963. Herbie served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged on April 10, 1966. Herbie was at one time employed by MDS, Par Technology and later as the Steward for the St. Francis Society. Francis served on the Village of Frankfort Board since 1991 and has served as Deputy Mayor since 2006. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the St. Francis Di Paolo Society. Francis is survived by one brother and sister in law, Joseph and Jeannie Spatol of Chicago; his sister in law, Rosalie Spatol of Tully; his nieces and nephews, Maryann and her husband, Scott Murray of Tully, Joseph and his wife, Theresa Spatol of WI, Marc and his wife, Jennifer Spatol of IL, Frank and his wife, Tracey Spatol of FL and Christopher and his wife, Elaine Spatol of FL; his great nephews and great nieces, Anthony Joseph, Matthew Charles, Michael Vincent, Benjamin Joseph, Maria Ann, Jake Christopher, Anna Marie, Shane John and Joseph Scott and several cousins and friends. He was predeceased by one brother, Carl Spatol on November 27, 2006 and his great nephew, Joseph Francis Spatol in 1989. His funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barrett and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Members of the St. Francis Society will meet Wednesday morning at 10:15 at the church vestibule. His funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J.
