Frances M. Dejohn

Ilion - Mrs. Frances M. DeJohn, 99, of 121 Manhattan Ave. passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 in the Siegenthaler Center with her family by her side. She was born in Frankfort on September 21, 1915, the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Bridget Romano Kinney and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Francis "Bill" DeJohn on July 27, 1940 in St. Mary's Church. Bill passed away on May 1, 1989. Frances was a devout communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. She devoted her entire life to her family, especially her daughter Franny. Frances is survived by one daughter, Frances DeJohn of Herkimer; one son, William DeJohn of Ilion; two grandsons, William Paul DeJohn and Travis Michael and his wife, Shannon DeJohn; two great-grandchildren, Leo DeJohn and Charlotte Rose DeJohn and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Nick Kinney and Joseph C. Kinney and one sister, Mary Kipper. Her funeral was held privately at the convenience of her family. There were no public calling hours. Frances' family would like to extend a special thank you to Debra Sutton for her devotion to Fran and Franny for many years. They would also like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and staff, both past and present, of the Folt's Home for the wonderful care shown to Fran and Franny over the past 21 years and to the staff of the Siegenthaler Center for Fran's final days and passing.
