Frankfort - Mrs. Flora R. Plano, 88, of 1440 St. Rt. 171 passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 in Masonic Home. She was born in Utica on February 14, 1925, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Talerico Cuda and she attended Utica schools. She was married to Carl J. Plano on June 2, 1947 in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Utica. Carl passed away on February 10, 1993. Flora was employed by Mohawk Data Science, Herkimer, for many years until her retirement in 1982. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens and the St. Francis Di Paolo Society Auxiliary. Flora is survived by two daughters, Ellen Laura of HI, and Gloria Zacaroli of Frankfort; two sons and one daughter in law, Carl Plano III and his wife, Joanne of Frankfort and Joseph Plano and his fiancé, Ann Longo of Utica; two sisters, Mary Benedetto of Utica and Gloria Vassallo of New Hartford; six grandchildren, Kelly and her husband, Scott Grates, Michelle and her husband, Eric Cleveland, Stephanie Plano, Therese Plano, Adrienne Zacaroli and Steven Zacaroli, Jr; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Grates, Conner Grates, Jenna Grates, Victoria Cleveland and Nathan Cleveland; her sister in law, Marie Giardino of Rochester and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Fanny Flint and two brothers, Charles Cuda and Anthony Cuda. Her funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 PM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 2:00 PM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11:00 - 1:30 at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens will meet Wednesday morning at 11:30 at the funeral home for services. Flora's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Masonic Home's Monroe Wing for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her during her stay and passing.
