Mohawk - Mrs. Evelyn L. Bommarito, 86, of 116 W. Main St., passed away peacefully Sunday, March 20, 2011 in her home with her loving family by her side.
Evelyn was born in Utica on July 15, 1924, the daughter of the late George and Minnie Quick Farley and attended East Frankfort schools. She was married to Frank J. Bommarito on May 24, 1942 in Utica. Mr. Bommarito passed away on January 20, 1998. Evelyn was employed as a Presser for Prime Cleaners until her retirement in 1974. She was a charter member of the Frankfort Hill Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary.
Evelyn is survived by three daughters and sons in law, Joanne and William Hazlett of Hartly, DE, Norene and Walter Ward of E. Herkimer, and Josephine and Frederick Christensen of Frankfort; one son and daughter in law, Ron and Christine Bommarito of Frankfort; one sister, Mabel Radlo of Utica; one brother, Joseph Farley of FL; her in laws, Nina and Edward Green, Fanny Farley, Joyce Farley Nelson and Lois O'Brien; eighteen grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Francis "Butch" Bommarito on March 24, 2008 and four brothers, George Farley, Patrick Farley, Edward Farley and Richard Farley.
Her funeral will be held Friday morning at 11:00 AM in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with Rev. Paul Bailey, officiating. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-8 PM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
