Herkimer - Mrs. Ethel Hysack, 84, of Galinski Apts., passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 in Bassett Health Care. She was born in Tupper Lake on May 11, 1926, the daughter of the late Rene and Pearl Scanlon Frechette. She attended Tupper Lake schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. She was married to John Hysack on January 4, 1958 in Herkimer. Mr. Hysack passed away on September 4, 2000. Ethel was employed in the office at Williams Furniture, Herkimer until her retirement in 1992 after 37 years of service. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church. Ethel is survived by one sister, Joyce Scanlon of Herkimer; her daughter in law, Rose Craine of Cooperstown, a nephew, Michael Scanlon and his wife, Rose of Utica and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Paul Craine on June 17, 2000. Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer and at 11:00 in Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Lawless. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home.
