Dorothy M. Manore
The Woodlands, TX- Frankfort - Mrs. Dorothy Marie Manore, 90, formerly of Frankfort and Old Forge passed away Friday, February 15, 2008 in Shenandoah, Texas.
She was born in Ilion on December 14, 1917, the daughter of the late Robert and Iva Conover Van Nort and was a graduate of Oriskany High School. She was married to Joseph Peanuts Manore on October 26, 1936 in Sacred Heart Church, Yorkville. Mr. Manore passed away on October 12, 1998. She was a member of the D.A.R., former President of the Friends of the Library in Frankfort, New York, and a literacy volunteer. Dorothy was a self-employed sales representative for Tupperware, Amway & Avon until her retirement in 1990. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church.
Dorothy is survived by four daughters and four sons-in-laws; Dorothy & Hank Phillips of Cooperstown, Loretta & Steve Teri of Marshfield, MA, Susan & John Migliore of Frankfort & Margaret & Gary Van Slyke of Gilbert, AZ; four sons and one daughter-in-law; Joseph Manore of Frankfort, John Manore of Charlotte, NC, Robert Manore of Mooresville, NC and Mickey & Suzanne Manore of The Woodlands, TX; nineteen grandchildren, Susan, Stephen, Brian, Scott, Diane, John, Steven, Melissa, Jeff, Lori, Toni, John, Michael, Robert Jr., Adam, Eric, Michael II, Michele, Sara Sue; twenty great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister; Helen Lockwood & two brothers; Robert and Russel Van Nort.
Her funeral will be held Friday morning at 9:30 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas. Calling hours will Thursday from 4-7 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. A celebration of her life will be held in Cooperstown, New York on Memorial Day weekend. Spring interment will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Cooperstown. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bridgewood Farm, 11680 Rose Road, Conroe, TX 77303.
