Herkimer - Mr. Dominick F. Aloisio, 77, of 217 Suiter St. passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 in his home with his family by his side. He was born in Herkimer on June 18, 1937, the son of the late Virgil and Blanche Beauchamp Aloisio. He attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1955. Following his schooling Donny served with the US Army and was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was married to Dolores Karecki on August 31, 1963 in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. Dominick was employed by MDS as a Contract Planning Administrator for many years and later was owner and operator of Don Aloisio's Appliance Center, Herkimer. He was also employed as a Salesman for Len Brown Chevrolet and Oldsmobile and lastly for Steete Ponte Chevrolet, Herkimer. He was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and a member of the Herkimer Elks BPOE Lodge #1439, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4915, the Polish Community Home and he served as an on call Herkimer Fireman. Dominick is survived by his wife, Dory Aloisio; one daughter, Valarie Aloisio Webster of Rochester; one grandson, Jack Webster; one brother and sister in law, Virgil and Kathy Aloisio of E. Herkimer; two sisters, Mary Lou Hennessy of Camp Hill, PA and Donna Nastasi of East Meadow; two sisters in law, Frances Schiedel of Sacramento, CA and Irene Czuryla of Herkimer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His funeral will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:00 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Quy Vo, pastor. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, March 27 from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home. Members of the Herkimer Elks will meet Friday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home for services. Contributions in Dominick's memory may be made to Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St., Herkimer, NY 13350 or the Herkimer Mohawk Food Pantry, P.O. Box 224, Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Donny's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion shown to him and to his special aides, Dianne Spatto and Debbie Victor for their kindness.
