David F. Uvanni

Mr. David F. Uvanni Sr. Cassville - Mr. David F. Uvanni Sr., 60, of 1018 Old State Rt. 8 passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in his home with his family by his side. He was born in Rome on May 19, 1956, the son of the late Francis Patrick and Elizabeth Jean Berndt Uvanni. He attended Oriskany Schools and graduated from Oriskany High School with the class of 1974. David served with the US Navy aboard the USS Vulcan and was Honorably Discharged on November 12, 1982 with the rank of Signalman. He was married to Francine "Frankie" Fiorentino on October 3, 1997 in Frankie's parent's home in Herkimer. David was employed by the Masonic Home in their Maintenance Department for 41 years and retired on June 1, 2016. He was a member of Life member of Harley Owners Group (HOG). David is survived by his beloved wife, Francine "Frankie" Uvanni; one son and daughter in law, David and Sherrie Uvanni Jr of Ilion; one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Jason Latendress of Ilion; five grandchildren, Justin Uvanni, Amanda Uvanni, Jennifer Latendress, Elizabeth Latendress and Allison Latendress; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Renee and Roy Sedgewick of NC, Jeanine and Wayne Grant of Floyd, Elaine and Danny Dixon of Johnson City and Kim and Dean Johnston of FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, William Uvanni. His funeral will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Calvary Cemetery. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer.
