David Francis Godkin

David Francis Godkin sr age 68 went home with God to be with his son David jr and his parents on Sept 8 2026. David passed away at home . Born on November11,1957 the third child of Jerry and Joan Godkin (Paciello).David attended local schools and retired from Utica City School District. He was predeceased by his son David jr in 2007. A loss he never recovered from. He was also predeceased by his partner of many years Ann Everett in 2014 ,a very difficult time for David. He was also predeceased by his niece Tonya Gunther Godkin in 2021 and most recently our Aunt Barbra Paciello in 2026. He is survived by his siblings Dawn Godkin Convertino and her children ,they loved him deeply. Never missing a chance to say HappyBirthday or Happy Fathers Day to Uncle David. Kevin and Tammy Godkin, Colleen and Jim Baris,Gerald and Mary(Plante)Godkin, Scott and Kristen Godkin, his uncle, Roger Paciello. He leaves his grandson Luca Godkin. Many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his stepson Brandon Burgy and a special friend Linda. David was a huge N.Y.Yankee Fan. We are sure "lil"David is happy to pass the ball with his dad .He was a kind and generous man to everyone even throughout this disease.If you knew him you loved him.Rest in peace brother you will never be forgotten.You will be forever missed and always in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to his His Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Church/Blessed Sacrament .Jay St.Utica N. Y. Mass will be October 6th at 10 AM. No calling hours.
