David A. Doolen Sr

Ilion - David A. Doolen Sr, 57, of Ilion passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 in Wynn Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born in New Hartford on August 12, 1966, the son of Albert and Joyce Heath Doolen He attended Frankfort Schuyler Central School. David was married to Karen Kerwin on August 8, 1992 in St. Agnes Church, Utica. Karen passed away on November 4, 2019. David was employed by CNY Chalking and Restoration, Frankfort for many years. He was an avid hunter since a child.

David is survived by his mother Joyce Doolen; his son, David Doolen Jr and his companion, Jessica of Bennington VT ; two brothers and one sister in law, Albert Doolen of Montpelier VA and John and Beverly Doolen of Frankfort; three sisters and brothers in law, Karen and Harley Seelman of Beaver Dam, Virginia, Linda and Michael Ball of Sauquoit NY and Kathy and Chris Fulmer of Utica NY and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Albert Doolen on August 17, 2004.

His funeral will be held later this spring in Frankfort Center Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort. .
