Darlene Marie Usmail-Talerico

Frankfort – Mrs.  Darlene Marie Usmail-Talerico, 73,  passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 at home, with her husband by her side.

She was born in Utica, New York on November 14, 1949, the daughter of the late Martin J.  (Sr.) and Julia E. Murphy Usmail.  She attended Utica schools, graduating from UFA, and later attended and graduated from Utica School of Beauty. She was married to Michael Talerico on December 31, 2000. Darlene was employed as a waitress for Pescatore's Restaurant, in Utica,  for many years.

She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and Blessed Sacrament.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Michael, one brother-in-law Robert Talerico, one brother,  Dennis and his wife, Bonnie Usmail of New Hartford; two sisters, Denise Usmail-Piazza of New Hartford NY, Diane and her husband, Carmelo Dainotto of Verona Beach; two granddaughters, Ashley Brown of Utica and Alexa Strickland of Syracuse; one great granddaughter, Raegan, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Gina Marie Benzo on August 6, 2022, her previous spouse Anthony Benzo Jr. , and one brother, Martin J Usmail Jr. on October 20, 2004

Her funeral will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Of Mt Carmel Church/Blessed Sacrament, 648 Jay St. Utica where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. James Cesta. There will be no calling hours. Her funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort.
