Frankfort - Mrs. Clarabelle E. "Bella" Pizzo, 84, of Fox St. passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 in the Folts Home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Herkimer on June 8, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Clara Lamphere Eagan. She attended Herkimer Schools. Bella was married to Joseph "Benny" Pizzo on November 24, 1954 in Chadwicks and they shared a blessed union for 55 years. Benny passed away on May 9, 2010. Clarabelle was employed with MDS in their Quality Control Department and later worked for Momentum Technologies for 24 years until her retirement in 1989. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, a member of D.A.V. Stars & Stripes Auxiliary, Chapter 82 in Utica and the American Legion Auxiliary and the Young at Heart Seniors. She made many special friendships during her time at the Folts Home. Bella enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo with her late-husband and friends, crotcheting baby blankets, outfits and doilies for her family, going on family vacations, attending all of her grandchildrens activities, and hosting delicious Italian dinners every Sunday. She is well known for making Thurston's pizza with her best friend Connie, and baking her famous Italian cookies. Bella is survived by her beloved family, one son and daughter in law, Paul and Marie LaVine, Sr. of Frankfort; five daughters and sons in law, Charline and Sam Pizzo of Rotterdam, Cathy and Roy Upson of Mohawk, Sandra Reisel of Ilion, Deborah and William Pettingell of Herkimer and Regina Pizzo of Herkimer; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, her beloved canine, Cleo and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, James Eagan and Thomas Eagan and one sister, Mary Newman. Her funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and 1:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, 414 S. Frankfort St. Frankfort, with the Rev. Paul Catena, officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 5-8 pm at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
