Christine (Tina) Brelinsky Stanley
Denver, Colorado
Christine Stanley, who had been lovingly called Aunt Tina by many, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, at her home in Denver, Colorado. Born in the countryside near Herkimer, NY, on February 11, 1932, Tina is survived by her twin sister, Mary Sidoran, of Barneveld, NY, and her sister-in-law, Winifred Brelinsky, Little Falls, NY, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends, from both New York and Colorado. Tina was pre-deceased by her parents, Daniel and Anna Brelinsky, brothers Louis (Sandra), Joseph (Martha), Steve (Katie) and John. and her sisters, Helen (Michael) Sobolowski, Sadie (Michael) Steciak, and Julia (Pete) Kowalczyik, all from Central New York. She was a past member of Saints Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, East Herkimer.
Tina had a special love and gratitude for her niece, Carole Steciak Fancher, Florida, who became her live-in companion and caretaker for the last four years. In addition, she loved her special nephew and wife, Peter and Cheryl Kowalczik, Texas, who have helped her and been close to her for decades.
Employed at General Electric, she re-located as a brave and daring young woman, from Central New York first to California with a friend, and then to Denver, Colorado. Once told she would not be able to make it in a business on her own, her response was “Watch Me!” She was able to successfully run a well-established business providing furniture reupholstery and chair caning in the Denver area for over forty years, still working as she was approaching 90 years old. Her clients still miss the beautiful work and expertise she provided. Tina had a passion for collecting antiques and other artifacts, which beautifully decorated her home, as well as growing a bountiful garden of plants and flowers in her backyard. She was very proud of working her whole life to make those things happen.
All who knew Tina will miss her wonderful personality and loving kindness. She had a face that lit up to a beautiful smile often, and displayed a feistiness, and generosity, that all will remember. She was always ready to provide for the family she loved, and she will be sorely missed.
Her graveside service arrangements are under the direction of the VJ Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., and is scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 9:00am, in Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church cemetery, East Herkimer. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, in her memory.
