Christine Della Posta Gatto

Dover, DE - Christine "Tina" Della Posta Gatto, 76, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 in Bay Health Medical in Dover, DE where she had resided for over twenty years. She was born in Amsterdam, NY on May 26, 1936, the daughter of the late Francesco and Stella Della Posta and she attended Amsterdam High School and later graduated from Union College, College of St. Rose and earned her Masters Degree in Education from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She was at one time married to Frank Gatto. Christine was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed the time spent with her family. She had been a life-long New York Yankees fan and was an avid reader with an intense interest in history. Christine is survived by one daughter and son in law, Marie and Stanley Crosson and one son and daughter in law, Fred and Patti Gatto, all of Dover, DE; two brothers and sisters in law, Frank and Kathy Della Posta of Gowanda, NY and Thomas and Mamie Della Posta of Frankfort, NY; her beloved grandchildren, Dominic, Tony and Danny of Dover, DE; and an extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Joseph Della Posta and one sister, Rose DeLorenzo. Services for Tina will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a funeral service with communion will be celebrated by Deacon James Bower. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort, NY.
