Cold Brook-Mr. Charles L. Reynolds, 67, of Box 325 passed away Friday, November 9, 2007 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse on November 6, 1940, the son of the late Charles and Gladys Welch Reynolds. He attended Mohawk schools and graduated from Mohawk High School with the class of 1960. Charles served with the US Navy as a Fireman aboard the USS Putnam and was Honorably Discharged on July 31, 1964. He was married to Janice Synenki in June of 1963 in Dennison Corners Church. Mr. Reynolds was a skilled craftsman and was a hand tied fly maker and the owner and operator of Adirondack Fly Tyer, Morehouse. He was a member of Ohio Alliance Community Church, American Rifle Association and the Morehouse Rod & Gun Club. Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman. He always liked the outdoors, fly fishing and hunting since he was young. His other interests ranged from wood carving and collecting antique decoys, fly fishing gear and hand tied flies. The skill that Charles possessed in fly tying earned him a place in the Mid York Traditional Arts Archives. Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Reynolds, two daughters & son in law, Laurie Reynolds of Herkimer, and Mary & Charles Luther all of Herkimer; two sons, John Reynolds and Floyd Reynolds both of TX; his grandchildren, Conrad, Max, Taylor, Justine, Kyle, Lucas, Floyd Jr, Jaid and Rageana; two sisters & brothers in law, Odel & Gayle Reynolds of Sturges, SD and Pauline & Solon Hofferberth of Alexandria Bay; his mother in law & father in law, Josephine & Art Cotton of Ft. Herkimer; his in laws, Michael & Elsie Synenki of Little Falls and Gerald Coyne of Whitesboro; his aunt, Anne Hall; special cousins, Carl & Peggy Chapman and Vietta Hotaling; three beloved felines, Tom, Miss Kitty and especially Duffy and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Rosemary Reynolds and one brother, Arnold Ray Reynolds. His funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer with the Rev. Ken Allen, pastor of the Ohio Alliance Community Church officiating. Interment will be in Former Morehouse Methodist Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors accorded by the US Navy. Calling hours will be Monday 4-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions maybe made to the Morehouse Volunteer Fire Company. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Charles' family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Talarico, Dr. Razia and Dr. Kachare for the wonderful care and compassion shown to him during hiss illness.
