Charles John Hand

Mr. Charles John Hand, 81, passed away on November 27, 2025, in Foltsbrook, Herkimer.

Chuck was born on May 12, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Edward and Lauren Tyson Hand and he attended schools there. He served with the US Air Force in Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged on January 16, 1967. He was married to Lucille M. Potenza on July 1, 1967 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Following his military service, he studied Computer Science and Mechanical Tech. Chuck was employed by Remington Arms as a Systems Analyst for many years until his retirement in 2010. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Lucille Hand; two daughters and sons in law, Jennifer and Joseph Main and Nicole and David Reynolds; his three granddaughters, Shante' Hand and her fiancée', Jordan King, Aubrey Reynolds and Camille Reynolds; three great-grandchildren, Norah Lynn King, Celeste Ayla King and Xander Rhys King; one sister, Alice DeNicola, his in laws, Anthony Potenza and David Potenza and his beloved canine, Quincy and several aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lauren Hand, his in laws, Clara and Anthony Potenza and one brother, Edward Hand.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Paul Catena, Pastor. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., Frankfort.
