Clinton - Mrs. Cecilia B. Kilfoil, 91, formerly of 99 Brookside Dr. passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 in the Lutheran Home with her family by her side.
The daughter of the late John F. and Josephine Remarzyk Ogozalek, Cecilia was born January 4, 1923 in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Cecilia entered St. Stanislaus Grade School in Chicopee, MA in 1928 and graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA with the class of 1936. She entered the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee and graduated with her degree in Biology with the class of 1944. After graduation, Cecilia was employed by Chapman Valve Co. in Indian Orchard, MA. She married Henry Kilfoil on August 3, 1943 in St. Stanislaus Church in Chicopee. Henry passed away on March 18, 2010. After the war, she and Henry moved to Hartford, CT where Henry was employed by Aetna Casualty and Surety. Cecilia began teaching at St. Vivian's School and eventually retired in 1999 from St. Bartholomew`s School in Cincinnati, OH. Cecilia and Henry then moved to Simsbury, CT and later to Clinton, NY.
Cecilia is survived by one daughter and two sons in law, Patricia and Steven Wietlisbach of Fayetteville, NY and Ed Lester of Frankfort, NY; her daughter in law, Denise Kilfoil of Cary, NC; eight grandchildren, Heather Lester, Christopher and Carin Lester, Kelli Wietlisbach, Matthew and Christina Wietlisbach, Joseph Wietlesbach, Terrence and Amanda Kilfoil, Jessica and Miles Efron and Brendon and Brooke Kilfoil; ten great-grandchildren, Dakota, Emma, Ava, Ashton, Ryleigh, Owen, Andrew, Bryce, James and Evan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Dr. Barry Kilfoil on August 28, 2010 and one daughter, Sharyn Lester on February 20, 2011.
Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 9:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chicopee, MA. Calling hours will be Monday morning from 8:30 until the time of the funeral at the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barry and Sharyn's memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502-5949. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
