Ilion - Mrs. Catherine Cushman Gilman, 91, formerly of Acme Rd. passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 in the Masonic Care Community with her loving family by her side. She was born in Frankfort on January 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Anthony and Angelina Cacciatore Papa and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Sam Cushman on June 13, 1942 in Frankfort United Methodist Church. Mr. Cushman passed away on November 23, 1999. She was later married to William Gilman on January 11, 2003 in Frankfort United Methodist Church. William passed away on December 6, 2008. Catherine was a Factory Worker for Remington Arms in Ilion for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Morningstar United Methodist Church and a member of their women's club. Catherine is survived by one daughter and son in law, Sandra and her husband Arthur Mahon of Navarre, FL; two sons and daughters in law, Ross and Blanche Cushman of Destin, FL and Paul and Connie Cushman of Saugerties, NY; two sisters and brothers in law, Amelia and Thomas Loiacano of Frankfort and Phyllis and Jim Keeley of Rome; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Vivacqua. Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 11:00 in Morningstar United Methodist Church where her funeral service will be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Wollaber. Interment will follow in Oak View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 4-7 pm at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
