Caroline E. Edwards

Mrs. Caroline Edwards Herkimer - Mrs. Caroline E. Edwards, 91, of 824 Shells Bush Rd passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in Bassett Health Care. She was born in Little Falls on April 18, 1916, the daughter of the late Peter and Josephine Penine Yestremski and she attended St. Johnsville schools. She was married to John Edwards, Sr. on July 26, 1940 in St. Patrick's Church, St. Johnsville. Mr. Edwards passed away on January 7, 1980. Mrs. Edwards was a seamstress for several local dress shops and lastly for Joy Taylor Dress Shop, Mohawk for many years. She was a communicant of St. Francis De Sales Church and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Caroline is survived by her beloved family, one son & daughter in law, John & Sandy Edwards of Herkimer; one daughter, Pat Edwards of Kayuta Lake; two sisters, Mary Gartner of Little Falls and Kate Roginski of Mohawk; her grandchildren, Scott & his wife, Jennifer Edwards of TX, Kim Edwards of Herkimer, Julie Van Dyke of FL, Michele Owens of GA, Brian Owens of FL and Nick Owens of GA; her great grandchildren, Tyler Shane, Caila, Mercedes, Karissa, Trevor, Kortney, Coralinn and Dylan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Anthony Yestremski and three sisters, Blanche Hajczewski, Veronica Ostasz and Stella Matis. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in St. Francis De Sales Church, N. Bellinger St, Herkimer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor. Interment will be in Armory Hill Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Caroline's son and daughter would like to express their sincere appreciation to her daughter in law, Sandy, who was more like a daughter to her, for the tireless efforts, love, dedication and help given to her. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer.
