Frankfort - Mrs. Carmella Montanaro, 96, formerly of Litchfield Manor passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 in the Masonic Home.
Carm was born in Frankfort on November 19, 1913, the daughter of the late Philip and Agnes Muschetta Trippen. She was married to Joseph Montanaro on March 11, 1951 in Frankfort. Mr. Montanaro passed away on January 19, 1981.
Mrs. Montanaro worked as an assembler for Univac, Ilion and Utica Plants until her retirement in 1977. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the St. Francis Di Paolo Society Auxiliary.
Carmella is survived by her son, Samuel Montanaro Jr of Utica; four grandchildren and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew Trippen and Joseph Trippen; and three sisters, Rose Turturo, Frances Zaffarano, Catherine Torchia.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barratt and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7PM at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
